"Davanti alla bellezza e alla profondità di certe opere d’arte e di certi testi filosofici, iniziatici e mistici, ci si rende conto che i loro autori hanno contemplato, molto lontano e molto in alto, una realtà che sfugge alla coscienza ordinaria. Per avere accesso a quella realtà, hanno dovuto attraversare non solo gli strati opachi della materia fisica, ma anche gli strati nebulosi della materia psichica. Fino ad allora, ciò che credevano essere la realtà non era che un’apparenza, un riflesso deformato o, tutt'al più, un velo che la nascondeva alla loro vista.

Riuscire a sollevare un velo è lo scopo dell’Iniziazione. È l’origine dell’espressione “sollevare il velo di Iside” trasmessa dalla tradizione. In quella grande figura femminile della religione egizia che è Iside gli Iniziati hanno visto un simbolo della Natura primordiale dalla quale sono scaturiti tutti gli esseri e tutti gli elementi della creazione, e ne hanno fatto il loro principale oggetto di studio.
Dato che vogliono conoscerla, s'impegnano a cercare e a comprendere tutte le esistenze che essa genera e attraverso le quali si manifesta, fino a scoprire la realtà ultima."

"When contemplating the beauty and depth of certain works of art and of certain philosophical, initiatic, and mystical works, one realizes that their authors have beheld a distant and elevated reality that escapes ordinary consciousness. To gain access to this reality, not only did they have to cross through the opaque layers of physical matter, but also the hazy layers of psychic matter. Until then, what they believed to be reality was in fact only an appearance thereof, a distorted reflection, or at best, a veil that hid it from their view.
The goal of initiation is to lift a veil. This is the origin of the expression ‘lifting the veil of Isis’ passed down by tradition. In Isis, the great female figure of Egyptian religion, initiates saw a symbol of primordial Nature from which all beings and all the elements of creation issued forth, and they took her as their main object of study. In their desire to know her, they strive to seek and understand all of the existences she generates and through which she manifests herself, until they discover the ultimate reality."

"Devant la beauté et la profondeur de certaines œuvres d’art et de certains ouvrages philosophiques, initiatiques, mystiques, on se rend bien compte que leurs auteurs ont contemplé très loin, très haut, une réalité qui échappe à la conscience ordinaire. Parce qu’ils veulent la connaître, ils s’appliquent à rechercher et à comprendre toutes les existences qu’elle engendre et à travers lesquelles elle se manifeste, jusqu’à découvrir la réalité ultime."

"Vor der Schönheit und der Tiefe mancher Kunstwerke und mancher philosophischer, spiritueller und mystischer Bücher wird man sich bewusst, dass ihre Urheber sehr weit entfernt, sehr hoch oben, eine Wirklichkeit geschaut haben, eine Wirklichkeit, die sich dem gewöhnlichen Bewusstsein entzieht. Um zu dieser Wirklichkeit Zugang zu haben, mussten sie nicht nur die trüben Schichten der physischen Materie durchqueren, sondern auch die nebligen Schichten der psychischen Materie. Bis dahin war das, was sie für die Wirklichkeit hielten, nur ein Schein, ein entstelltes Abbild oder besser gesagt ein Schleier, der die Wirklichkeit vor ihren Augen verhüllte.
Dahin zu gelangen, den Schleier zu heben, ist das Ziel der Einweihung. Das ist der Ursprung des Ausdrucks »den Schleier der Isis heben«, welcher durch die Überlieferung weitergegeben wurde. In Isis, dieser großen weiblichen Figur der ägyptischen Religion, haben die Eingeweihten ein Symbol der uranfänglichen Schöpfung gesehen, aus der alle Wesen und alle Elemente der Schöpfung hervorgegangen sind. Und sie haben sie zu ihrem wichtigsten Studienobjekt gemacht. Weil sie diese uranfängliche Schöpfung erkennen wollen, bemühen sie sich, alle Existenzen, die sie umfasst und durch welche sie sich manifestiert, zu entdecken und zu verstehen, bis sich die höchste Wirklichkeit enthüllt. "

"Ante la belleza y profundidad de ciertas obras de arte y de ciertas obras filosóficas, iniciáticas y místicas, nos damos buena cuenta de que sus autores han contemplado muy lejos, muy alto, una realidad que escapa a la conciencia ordinaria. Conseguir levantar un velo es el objetivo de la Iniciación. Es el origen de la expresión «levantar el velo de Isis» transmitido por la tradición. En esta gran figura femenina de la religión egipcia, Isis, los Iniciados vieron un símbolo de la Naturaleza primordial de la cual han surgido todos los seres, todos los elementos de la creación y, han hecho de ella, su principal objeto de estudio. Puesto que desean conocerla, se aplican en buscar y comprender todas las existencias que engendra y, a través de las cuales se manifiesta, hasta descubrir la realidad última."
