"Qualcuno dice: «Io credo solo a ciò che vedo!». Ebbene, significa semplicemente che non riflette. Infatti, di cosa si occupa giorno e notte? Dei suoi pensieri e dei suoi sentimenti, ma anche dei pensieri e dei sentimenti degli altri. Li vede forse? No. Allora come mai rappresentano per lui una vera e propria realtà? Due esseri si amano... Essi non vedono il loro amore, non lo toccano, ma per quell'amore sono pronti a smuovere il cielo e la terra. E l'anima, e la coscienza, chi le vede? Quando in tribunale un giudice condanna un malfattore “secondo coscienza”, come si può accettare che la sorte di un uomo sia decisa in nome di qualcosa che nessuno ha mai visto?

Senza volerlo ammettere, gli esseri umani credono unicamente a cose invisibili, impalpabili. Pensano, amano, detestano, soffrono, sono felici... e ciò che li rende capaci di quei pensieri e di quei sentimenti rimarrà sempre invisibile; eppure essi si ostinano a dire che credono solo a ciò che vedono. Che contraddizione! "

Sans vouloir l’admettre, les humains ne croient qu’à des choses invisibles, impalpables. Ils pensent, ils aiment, ils détestent, ils souffrent, ils se réjouissent… Ce qui les rend capables d’avoir ces pensées et ces sentiments restera toujours invisible, mais en même temps ils s’obstinent à dire qu’ils ne croient qu’à ce qu’ils voient. Quelle contradiction !"

"Jemand sagt: »Ich glaube nur das, was ich sehe!« Nun, diese Person beweist ganz einfach, dass sie nicht nachdenkt. Denn womit ist sie denn Tag und Nacht beschäftigt? Und die Seele, das Bewusstsein, das Gewissen? Wer hat sie gesehen? Wenn bei Gericht ein Richter einen Verbrecher »nach bestem Wissen und Gewissen« verurteilt, wie könnte man akzeptieren, dass über das Schicksal eines Menschen im Namen von etwas, das man nie gesehen hat, entschieden wird?
Ohne es zugeben zu wollen, glauben die Menschen nur an unsichtbare, unfassbare Dinge. Sie denken, sie lieben, sie hassen, sie leiden und freuen sich... Was sie dazu befähigt, Gedanken und Gefühle zu haben, wird immer unsichtbar bleiben, aber gleichzeitig versteifen sie sich darauf zu behaupten, dass sie nur an das glauben, was sie sehen. Welch ein Widerspruch! "
